Days Manyara | Serengeti | Tarangire Lodge Safaris
Tanzania undoubtedly has some of the finest wildlife viewing in Africa. The Simba Safari journeys through four of the country's most exciting parks, with increased opportunities of spotting the Big-5 and a huge variety of other species. The three safaris below follow the same routes, but accommodation varies slightly in style, cost and location. Perched on the rim of the Crater with a pair of binoculars, one is able to view an incredible eco-system in the valley below.
Day
1: Arusha - Lake Manyara
National park
Pick up from your hotel at
0800 hrs and drive to Lake Manyara National park to
arrive in good time for
lunch at Lake Manyara Serena
Lodge . Proceed for

Dinner and overnight Lake
Manyara wildlife lodge
Located beneath the cliffs
of the Manyara Escarpment,
on the edge of the Rift
Valley, Lake Manyara
National Park offers varied
ecosystems, incredible bird
life, and breathtaking
views. Lake Manyara’s famous
tree-climbing lions are
another reason to pay this
park a visit. The only kind
of their species in the
world, they make the ancient
mahogany and elegant acacias
their home during the rainy
season, and are a well-known
but rather rare feature of
the northern park. In
addition to the lions, the
national park is also home
to the largest concentration
of baboons anywhere in the
world -- a fact that makes
for interesting game viewing
of large families of the
primates.
Day 2: Serengeti National
park
Early morning game drives
then return to the lodge for
breakfast .Depart the lodge
and proceed Serengeti
passing through Olduvai
Gorge, the archeological
site of the Leakey family.

Day 3: Serengeti National
park
A full day with morning and
afternoon game drives to
explore the plains, Dinner
and overnight at Serengeti
wildlife Lodge
Serengeti is easily
Tanzania’s most famous
national park, and it’s also
the largest, at 14,763
square kilometres of
protected area that borders
Kenya’s Masai Mara Game
ParkIt is the Migration for
which Serengeti is perhaps
most famous. Over a million
wildebeest and about 200,000
zebras flow south from the
northern hills to the
southern plains for the
short rains every October
and November, and then swirl
west and north after the
long rains in April, May and
June. So strong is the
ancient instinct to move
that no drought, gorge or
crocodile infested river can
hold them back. The
Wildebeest travel through a
variety of parks, reserves
and protected areas and
through a variety of
habitat. Join us to explore
the different forms
of
vegetation and landscapes of
the Serengeti ecosystem and
meet some of their most
fascinating inhabitants.
Day 4: Ngorongoro
conservation area
Breakfast at leisure then
view game as you drive to
Ngorongoro conservation area
for overnight stay at
Ngorongoro wildlife lodge.
Day 5: Ngorongoro crater
After early morning
breakfast leave with picnic
lunch for a full day crater
tour. You will be taken
2000ft down the crater by a
4wheel drive vehicle,
explore the crater before
ascending back to the
Ngorongoro wildlife Lodge
for dinner and overnight.

The Ngorongoro Crater is
often called ‘Africa’s Eden’
and the ‘8th Natural Wonder
of the World,’ a visit to
the crater is a main
drawcard for tourists coming
to Tanzania and a definite
world-class attraction. The
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
(NCA) is home of Ngorongoro
Crater. It was formed some
2.5 million years ago from a
volcanic mountain sinking
due to inactivity, and was
initially thought to be
higher than Tanzania’s
famous Kilimanjaro. The
crater has evolved into a
unique and integral part of
Tanzania’s eco-system. The
crater is actually a
caldera, measures 22.5 km’s
across and the rim walls
stand 600m high. Views from
within and from the rim are
breathtaking (as can be seen
from the picture). The
crater houses 30,000 animals
and a large variety of
birds, which rarely move
from the area due to the
availability of water
through wet and dry seasons
Day 6 Ngorongoro -Tarangire
National park
Depart the Lodge breakfast
drive to Tarangire.
Afternoon game drive. Dinner
and overnight at Tarangire
Safari Lodge
Tarangire National Park, one
of the hidden jewels of
Tanzania. This park measures
2,600 sq km’s and boasts a
concentration of wildlife
second only to Ngorongoro
Crater. It features an
impressive amount and array
of bird life and plant life.
Situated only 160km’s from
Arusha, the park is nestled
to the south of the large
open grass plains of
southern Maasailand. It is
named after the Tarangire
River, which runs directly
through the center of the
park and is the only
permanent water source for
the animals. Along the banks
of this river you will find
herds of wildebeest (or gnu)
and zebra, followed by
Grant’s Gazelle, Thomson ’s
gazelle and many others.
Lurking in the background
lion and leopard keep a
watchful eye on a possible
meal. The park offers views
of grass and floodplains
with impressive baobab and
flat topped acacia trees
scattered throughout. During
the dry season the park may
look quite ordinary, but
activities continue even
more earnestly due to the
now increased competition.

Tanzania Lodge Safaris:
lodge safari in Tanzania to
Ngorongoro,serengeti Lodge
Safaris,lake manyara and
tarangire Lodge Safaris
Day 01: Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park
[3 1/2 hours approximately]
Depart Arusha after lunch, and drive across the Masai Steppe to the Great Rift Valley, and up the escarpment to your hotel perched on the rim and overlooking the park below. From which ever direction you approach Lake Manyara, you get a spectacular view. Approaching from the east the Great Rift Valley wall forms an impressive backdrop to the Lake. From the west, with a pause at the top of the escarpment, the park lies below, a green strip beside a glistening lake. Lake Manyara National Park covers an area of 330 square kilometers, of which about two thirds is the lake itself, and the rest is forest, acacia woodland and some grasslands by the lake shore.
The wildlife can be migratory between Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park across the lake, but you should see elephant, hippo, Cape buffalo, giraffe, several species of primate and antelope, and prolific birdlife. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.
Day 02: Lake Manyara National Park- Serengeti National Park
[6 hours approximately]
After breakfast there is a game drive in the park. There are normally plenty of hippos around, and you may be lucky enough to see the elusive tree climbing lions for which this park is famous.
After lunch continue to the Serengeti National Park. This is one of the most popular and spectacular game areas in East Africa, covering an area of 14,765 square kilometers, teaming with game. A particular feature of the Serengeti is the annual migration of the wildebeest and zebra herds. Each year, after the traditional "short " rains in November the migration starts when the herds amass in their thousands on the plains below the Ngorongoro highlands.
During February they move north and west following the rains and the new grasslands, and they start to move into the Masai Mara in July. In October they move back to Tanzania .This annual phenomenon involves more than 1.5 million animals, including the lion and other predators that follow the herds for easy pickings. The whole process affects the lives of thousands of other species who rely on the passage of the migration for their survival, even the insects, not to mention the trees and plants which rely on the droppings for their fertilization. Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge.
Day 03: Serengeti National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge.
Day 04: Serengeti National Park- Ngorongoro Crater
[5 hours approximately ]
After breakfast depart and drive back across the Serengeti Plains viewing game all the time and arrive at Ol Duvai Gorge. The Gorge is about 50 kilometers long and in some places 90 meters deep. Commonly heralded as the "Cradle of Mankind" it was made famous by the discovery in 1959 of the remains of early man. Your stop includes a visit to the small museum overlooking the Gorge. After a picnic lunch you continue on to your lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim for dinner and overnight. "It is impossible to give a fair description of the size and beauty of the Crater, for there is nothing with which one can compare it.
It is one of the Wonders of the World." This is how the Crater is described by Bernard Grzimek in his classic "Serengeti Shall Not Die". The area is given over to Wildlife Conservation and comprises 8300 square kilometers of which the Crater is 260 square kilometers, and consists of grasslands, swamps, forests, rivers, and even an arid area of shifting dunes.
The Crater supports a year round resident population of varied wildlife, and as the game is concentrated into a relatively small area you are likely to see lion, elephant, hyena, jackal, cheetah, the very rare Black rhino, primates and many more.
The area is also home to the proud and colourful Masai tribe. Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
Day 05: Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast you descend into the Crater in a 4 x 4 vehicle for a half day of game viewing with lunch back at the lodge.
Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
Day 06: Ngorongoro Crater - Tarangire National Park
[5 hours approximately]
Morning drive to Tarangire arriving for lunch and an afternoon game drive. South from Lake Manyara this delightful park covers an area of 2,600 square kilometers. It is the numerous wide bodied Baobab trees that first attract your eye. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees sometimes dwarfing the wildlife that feeds beneath them. The park is at its best during the traditional dry seasons of June to October and December to March when many of the migratory animals come to the Tarangire River for water.
Wildebeest, Oryx, zebra, elephant are amongst the most prolific of the animals. Dinner and overnight at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge.
